Spread love this holiday season with Virgin Mobile’s Goody Box and Home Internet.
With Christmas just around the corner, family, food, and gift giving are on everyone’s mind, but for those less fortunate, this time of year can be stressful. The 13% of unemployed youth in Canada have even more to deal with. Getting a job is hard for anyone, but without skills, connections, and experience, some young people face especially difficult hurdles.
Since 2008, Virgin Mobile has been supporting at-risk and homeless kids through their Re*Generation program (RE*Gen). From 2014-2016, RE*Generation has trained over 300 at-risk youth, and 215 of them have gone on to be hired into full-time job positions. What’s next? To have 450 more gain employment by the end of 2017.
For the rest of this year, Virgin Mobile is giving all Canadians a chance to make a difference with their Goody Box. Inside the box you’ll get a power bank, ear bud, and wall plug set that works with nearly every phone on the market. With the purchase of each accessory bundle, $5 will be donated to RE*Gen.
On November 22nd, Sir Richard Branson himself was in Toronto to share Virgin Mobile Canada’s new Home Internet initiative. We were in attendance alongside other guests like Olympian Akeem Haynes and a few graduates from the RE*Gen program itself. If you are interested in hooking up with Virgin Mobile’s Home Internet to help out you can get all the details here.
Pick up a Goody Box as a stocking stuffer (or well-deserved gift to yourself) at your nearest Virgin Mobile location. Find a store here and be sure to post a picture using their #GetToGive hashtag!
Looking for another way to give back? Members can donate online at any time through CanadaHelps.org for the amount of their choice! You can also have $1 added to your monthly bill to be donated to Re*Gen through Virgin Mobile’s Change for a Dollar program.
